About Us
Hey there! I'm David Vance, the proud owner of Borrowed Husband! As a devoted man of God, I cherish my beautiful wife of over 10 years and our two incredible kids who light up my life. With a solid background in construction, management, and dispatch, I’ve harnessed my experiences to launch a Handyman business that’s ready to revolutionize the industry! We're on a mission to raise the bar, underpromising and overdelivering for every client we meet, all while embodying that classic southern respect and professionalism we all deserve!

Our Story
“How did Borrowed Husband come to be?” It’s a question we hear all the time. People want to know where the name came from and why we chose the handyman business. The truth is, this company wasn’t just an idea—it was a calling born out of real-life experiences and a deep desire to make a difference.

Years ago, a devastating structure fire tore through our neighborhood. The destruction was overwhelming—homes burned to the ground, cars melted into unrecognizable shapes. But what really struck me was the aftermath. I saw my neighbors—some single moms, elderly couples, newlyweds—trying to pick up the pieces. There was so much need, so much weight to carry. I remember thinking, What can I do to help?

So, I showed up. Whether it was putting together patio furniture, mounting a TV, or just lending muscle to move something heavy, I wanted them to know they weren’t alone. It wasn’t about the tasks themselves—it was about showing care, offering comfort, and being there. What I received in return wasn’t money but something far more valuable: real connections and friendships that I still hold close today.

When my family moved to Texas, I had to make a career change. We rented a home, and that’s when I experienced firsthand what it felt like to deal with bad contractors. There were broken promises, shoddy repairs, and zero communication. I had strangers showing up unannounced, disrupting our home. One guy even took our toilet and never came back. It was maddening.. I thought, People shouldn’t have to deal with this. They deserve so much better.

And that’s when Borrowed Husband truly took shape. It wasn’t just about fixing things—it was about restoring faith in what a handyman service could be. We set out to create a company that not only delivered quality work but also cared about the people behind every project.

We’ve walked into homes where a simple repair turned into a heartfelt conversation. We’ve been there for widows unsure of how to maintain their home, afraid of being taken advantage of. We’ve stood with customers through emotional breakdowns, offering a steady hand and a listening ear.

Borrowed Husband is more than just a handyman service. It’s a promise—to show up, to care, and to leave things better than we found them. We’re here to make an impact, not just with tools and repairs but with kindness and integrity.

Every home we step into is an opportunity to remind someone that they matter. And as long as there are people who need a helping hand, we’ll keep showing up—one project, one relationship, one life at a time.
